纽约的美国自然博物馆应该是全美最大的一个, 上下共有五层, 而且每层都比华盛顿的那个大不少. 除了自然馆部分, 还包括一个巨大的天文馆(Rose Center). 可惜我只有半天的时间, 只好拣重点挑着看.
先是在天文馆看片 - 宇宙大碰撞. 久违了, 拱形球幕! 这个天文馆算是设施先进, 连椅子都安装了音响和震动装置. 所以当视觉上出现星球大爆炸的时候, 感观上也有相同的感觉出现, 更加深了真实感觉. 片子讲述了各种宇宙大爆炸, 从太阳的形成, 到恐龙灭绝, 到行星的寿命, 以及它们相互的关系. 是个相当好的片子.
后来又逛了规模很大的恐龙馆, 在一大堆恐龙化石骨架面前徘徊了很久. 这里的动物馆也不错, 和国家博物馆最大区别就是这里都是骨架, 而那边则是模型. 不过几乎每个小馆都有小剧场, 重复播放了各种纪录片. 一边休息一边观看还是很不错.
